Nomvelo Makhanya’s exit from Scandal was controversial, and she ended up getting blacklisted from the acting industry for being difficult to work with. However, 4 months ago, she opened up about her exit.
According to Makhanya, she reported the director and a call manager for coming to work drunk and being inappropriate. As a result, the directors set out to make her life difficult, and she ended up being written off from the story.
She became depressed leading up to her departure
The treatment she endured led her to depression, and at one point she considered taking her own life. However, thanks to her strong support system, they held her down in that dark period. Furthermore, Makhanya revealed that therapy played a huge role in her recovery.

Nomvelo Makhanya’s public Meltdown
When these things happened, Nomvelo was still very hurt and triggered. As a result, she went live on Instagram to expose the matter. In the aftermath, her meltdown was used as extra evidence that the actress was unstable and a diva. Which made things much harder for her.
Nomvelo was very upset at how she was easily disposed of; even after 10 years of working on the show and being highly praised, she was easily blacklisted after speaking out against something wrong. According to Nomvelo, it was a power move to show her that she was nothing. After her departure from scandal, she couldn’t secure jobs.

The after math of being blacklisted from Acting
But it turns out it was probably for the best, as the actress has managed to focus on her content creation career and being a DJ. In a recent interview on the Genie Podcast. Nomvelo revealed that she was now making more money outside acting than she did as an actress and had more control over her life.
We wish her well in her future endeavors. She revealed that her life is much more fulfilling and happier than before, and she is still on good terms with some of her colleagues from the show.
