Hope Mbhele was born on April 6, 1996, in Umthwalume, Port Shepstone, KwaZulu-Natal. Her Facebook, however, lists Hibberdene as her hometown. She spent most of her childhood there and went to Hibberdene Academy before later studying at Marburg Secondary School.

Hope Nosipho Mbhele first came onto the acting scene around 2016, when she appeared as an extra on Uzalo. Her big break came in 2021, when she was cast as Busisiwe “Mabusi” in Umkhokha, a Mzansi Magic drama. That role remains one of her signature characters.
